Connecting SurveyToGo with dialing solutions for CATI projects

Overview

This article will explain how you connect SurveyToGo to serve as the interviewing solution when you run a CATI Project and you already have an inhouse dialing solution.

Most dialing systems support calling an external survey solution when a call is established by the agent. This is done by calling a unique survey link.

By utilizing the SurveyToGo's online surveys mode that allow a dynamic unique links generation you can initiate a unique online interview when a call is established. 

The SurveyToGo Dynamic Unique Links allow:

• Dynamically generate a unique link per respondent by using any respondent unique identifier that you decide from your sample
• Allow you to stop and continue the interview from where it paused
• Allow you to add parameters to the generated links so to be used within the interview as required by the survey

After you built your survey in SurveyToGo you will then move on to generating the Dynamic Unique link and set it up on the relevant dialing solution end.

Below we will explain how you generate and manage such a dynamic unique link on the SurveyToGo side. Using the generated link on your dialing solution may vary between one solution to the other.

On your survey CAWI tab click the Create Respondent Links

• Name - Enter a name for the links group that represents them. For example CATI Project A Wave 1
• 'Unique Identifier Param Name' - You can use the default uid parameter name as the unique identifier parameter in the link or give it another name according to the dialing solution needs
• Mark the Dynamic Link Generation option

Once you click on 'Add' a link will be generated. This link will be used by the dialing solution as the basis to the actual links that will be dynamically generated for each respondent

As you can see above the link includes the generated unique identifier without a value (uid= ), the reason is because the dialing solution will add its respondent unique value in this place when called.

Please Note: The link is 'incomplete' without a unique identifier value so if you copy this link and paste it into the browser without anything after the uid= 

an error will be prompt  as below

You can add additional parameters to your links after the unique parameter as needed for example generate your links to be &uid=12345&Gender=Male&Age=25
Please note: the extra parameters added must always come at the end of the link - after the unique parameter that you have defined).
