This article is aimed at explaining how SurveyToGo is used by many of our customer to conduct Telephone Driven projects (CATI).
CATI projects can vary in their nature in various aspects but they all include 2 important basic components:
- Dialing capabilities
- Data Collection/Survey solution
They may however vary with how respondents are managed and contacted (Own Sample, Panel, Random etc.), what process is followed to contact the respondents, how large and versatile is the agents team, is it done by internal agents or through an outsourced call center, are the agents working from a central office location or are they home based, what countries the survey runs at, the survey complexity and more.
Various CATI solutions include both the dialing component as well as the survey/data collection solution however it is important to note that CATI projects can and actually do combine one Telephony/Dialing solutions with external survey/data collection solutions.
While SurveyToGo is not a complete CATI solution it can be used as the survey/data collection platform in conjunction with whatever the Telephony/Dialing solution is used.
Below we will detail the few ways that customer use SurveyToGo as the survey/data collection platform today to conduct CATI projects:
Option 1 - Use SurveyToGo with your existing dialing system
In case you already have a running dialing solution and want to have SurveyToGo to serve as the interviewing part. Most dialing systems support calling an external survey solutions via online unique survey links when a call is established by the agent. By utilizing the SurveyToGo's online surveys mode that allow a dynamic unique links generation you can initiate a unique online interview when a call is established. You can read more here.
Option 2 - Using ‘Dialfire’
If you do not have a Telephony/Dialing solution Dialfire in conjunction with SurveyToGo would be an excellent match. We have an excellent collaboration with Dialfire so we can both discuss with your team to fit the solution to your need.
Dialfire is a full SaaS solution, no installations are required. The administrative setup is also simple and easy including the connection with SurveyToGo.

Option 3 - Using SurveyToGo data collection Apps while calling directly from them
If you do not want to or cannot use a dialing solution and you manage your own sample and can distribute it between the agents then you can simply have your agents leverage our data collection apps apps and use it while conducting a regular phone call or a live session while using their device.
For example if you can use the PC Survey App combined with a live session done via any of the existing solutions (Google Meet, Zoom, Teams etc.).
Or if your agents are at a remote places with limited connectivity you can have them use the SurveyToGo App in an offline mode while conducting a normal phone call with the respondents and following the survey on their device.
