Overview
The “Logic Indicators” feature allows the scripter to easily understand which questions in the script contain logic or rules just by glancing at the survey tree. Scripter is able to easily detect if a question:
- Has Entrance / Validation / Jump rules
- Is part of a quota definition
- Can filter / cancel the interview
The Logic indicators are shown as small colored squares near the question’s type sign in the tree, where each colored square is related to a different logical rule:
Once you hover and stand with the mouse on a question with logical indicators, it will prompt what those indicators mean:
Questions Logic Indicators:
Blue Square – Entrance Rule:
The blue square indicates the question has an entrance rule.
Purple Square – Jump Rule:
The purple square indicates the question has a jump rule.
Orange Square – Validation Rule:
The orange square indicates the question has a validation rule.
Red Square – Cancel Jump Rule:
The red square indicates the question has the “Cancel” jump rule.
Grey Square – Filter Jump Rule:
The grey square indicates the question has the “Filter” jump rule.
Dark Green Square – Submit Jump Rule:
The dark green square indicates the question has the “Submit” jump rule.
Light Green Square – Part of quota definition:
The light green square indicates the question is part of a quota definition (meaning, a quota capture relies on this question’s answer).
Note that this is relevant only for Quota Sheets (not “Rules” quotas).
Brown Square – “Dummy” Question:
The brown square indicates the question is hidden from surveyor (a “Dummy” question).
Chapters Logic Indicators:
Blue Square – Entrance Rule:
The blue square indicates the chapter has an entrance rule.
Brown Square – Hidden Chapter:
The brown square indicates the chapter is hidden from surveyor.
Pink Square – Iteration Entrance Rule:
The pink square indicates the chapter has an iteration entrance rule in it.
Red Square – Iteration Break Rule:
The red square indicates the chapter has an iteration break rule in it.
