Question Types Overview

Survey To Go has a vast variety of different question types which allow you to collect precise, informative and unique types of data throughout your surveys.

This Overview will introduce you to the question types in Survey To Go and provide a specific tutorial for each one of them for a more deep dive.

Question Type Description Remarks
Single Choice User can select 1 answer from a list of predefined answers Can include one Other Specify Answer. Has  various rendering modes
Numeric User can enter a numeric value only Has various built in configurations as min max values, Integers only etc.
Open Ended User can enter free text Has various rendering modes and built in configurations as allowed num of characters, text box size etc.
Multiple Selection User can select 1 or more out of a list of predefined answers Can include one Other Specify Answer. Has various rendering modes
Rating user can order the various items in order of importance  
Scale User can select from a scale of 1 to N Has various settings available as lower and higher associated limits, texts, images
Single Choice Grid User selects one answer for each topic from a specified list of values for a specified list of topics. Has various rendering modes and built in settings
Multiple Selection Grid User selects one or more answers for each topic from a specified list of values for a specified list of topics. Has various rendering modes and built in settings
Open Ended Grid User can enter free text for a specified list of topics. Has various rendering modes and built in settings
Numeric Grid User can enter a numeric value only for a specified list of topics. Has various rendering modes and built in settings
Counters User can count various items  
Stopper User can measure using a stopwatch the time it takes to complete items  This question type is available only in the PC Surveyor program
Expression Non-Visible question. You can enter an expression/computation that will be evaluated when the survey reaches this question.  
Empty Question without an answer. Used to display text, images, videos, sounds etc to the user without requiring him to answer.  
Multimedia Used to allow the surveyor to capture sound, photos or videos during an interview  
Location Used to hold a geographical location captured through the GPS or entered manually (LAT, LONG) by the surveyor
