How to control the execution order of questions

Overview

The default way to display a group of questions in a random order, can be done through the chapter’s settings, as explained in this link:

http://support.dooblo.net/hc/en-us/articles/208295155-Randomizing-Survey-Questions-Answers-Topics

The randomization process shown in the link above is done internally by the system and the final order in which the questions were displayed during the interview, is not saved and cannot be seen in the data.

In the sample survey below, you’ll see how to control and execute questions random order, while also save that order in a variable that will later be shown in the data.

The sample uses the “General Jump Rule” feature, that can be found in the survey’s Advanced tab:

Note: The sample support a scenario where all questions under a chapter needs to be randomized, and, the randomized order is internally by the system. The code that generates the random order can be found in Question “SaveOrder” in the sample.

This code can be changed to generate a random order if under a different logic, based on what is needed.

Please view this next link that shows how to import an external survey into your account:

That’s it!
